Knox Energy Inc.'s field operations are conducted out of Gratiot, Ohio located 10 miles west of Zanesville.
Mark D. Jordan founded the company in 1998. In its first year, Knox acquired approximately 200 producing wells and another 150 wells for equipment salvage and well refurbishment.
In its second year of operations, a new division known as Berry Well Service was formed to provide oilfield services. This enabled Knox to service and refurbish its own wells and offer oilfield services to other oil and gas producers.
Before forming Knox Energy in 1998, Mr. Jordan was employed by CGAS Exploration, Inc., a Columbus, Ohio publicly owned natural gas producer and marketer. Mr. Jordan held various positions in his 14 years at CGAS, including Vice President of Gas Marketing, and Vice President of Land. Mr. Jordan started with CGAS as a Field Operations Supervisor. Mr. Jordan holds a BS Degree in Business from Mars Hill College in North Carolina and a Petroleum Technology Associate Degree from Seminole College in Oklahoma. He is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association as well as a Trustee. Furthermore, he is on the board of Trustees for the The Buckeye Institute and was also appointed as a member to the PUCO Underground Technical Committee, in 2022.
Before joining Knox in 2006, Mr. Wade served as a production manager for CGAS Exploration, Inc., where he was employed for 27 years. He is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association.
Mrs. Dessert has been with Knox Energy, Inc. since 2000 and manages many areas of accounting and revenue distribution, payroll/HR and general office management. Mrs. Dessert holds a BS in Human Ecology Family Resource Management from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and serves as Treasurer for the Ohio Geological Society.
Before joining Knox in 2000, Mr. Mitton served as a drilling and operations supervisor for CGAS Exploration, Inc., where he was employed for 20 years. Bill worked at Knox Energy for 23 years handling various jobs in our field operations, from drilling supervisor to managing multiple service rig operations. He was a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and an elected Trustee. Bill was inducted into the OOGA Hall of Fame in 2022. He will be greatly missed by all.
